Fallen Angels

 Dearest,

Look closely, Charlie. Do you recognize me? See my tears; feel my pain.

You were never that smart, My dear, sweet, beautiful Charlie...Did you think I would never find you?

You could have saved me, but you chose a different path ... leaving me alone...saving only yourself.  Did they tell you it was just a bad dream, Charlie?  that I was just a figment of your childhood imagination?

Remember when, Charlie? Which were you? Yes, I, too believe in evil. Centuries have passed, and we meet again through this vortex you have unearthed.

Don’t close your eyes, My dear, sweet Charlie.

Look into the eyes of your soul.

Charlie...Come out, come out, wherever you are ...

 My Arrival ~

Most called me Dharma back then. You can call me Charlie. My last incarnation ended sadly. The police called it suicide.

I prefer to think I overdosed on Peace and Love in 1967. Of course the drugs didn't help. And as my soul left my body and floated over San Francisco and the Summer of Love Festival I noticed that I was being pulled back. No wings to lift me up and not enough sin to pull me all the way down.

For nearly 40 years I've been in a holding pattern ... somewhere between Heaven and Hell and Light and Dark ... close to the murky depths and near the awesome heights. God's yoyo and the devil's prospect. Trust me I am tired of bouncing around. I want to redeem myself. My life on earth had faded into a blur of sex, drugs, and rock and roll. And life in between has left me tired and tattered. They have a name for souls like me. I am a fallen angel. And I am the first to arrive.

Don't laugh when I tell you that I am on a mission from God. More will be revealed to you. But I want to tell you that I'm here because Lucifer666 is here.

It's almost a cliché to suggest that no one is quite what they seem, but when the innocent are suspect and the evil flip sides like blackened coins that's where I come in.

First thoughts are sometimes like first impressions. They can be wrong. But I will leave you with a question that has long plagued philosophers and kings....

Do you Believe in Evil?

 Fallen Angels

I came in the cloak of a child many centuries past; I have always been a fallen angel. I will always answer to the call of WoodEye but I am better known as Charlie. There are others besides myself here lost somewhere between the darkness and the light, waging war against evil ... so begins the chronicles of The Fallen Angels.

Crawling in my forlorn appearance,
I hide my soul behind these tattered wings;
tattered and broken as they are plucked of light,
stained in tears and blood.

In quiet despair upon the cold earth, smeared in dirt,
I crouch upon my weary knees,
and clutched timidly between my fingers,
rests one last jewel of hope.

A single unblemished plume
plucked from the silver light of dawn,
a feathered ray of light from beyond
to illuminate the void that has me bound.

This precious barb of silk, once lost as I was and forgotten
blazes now to immerse me in radiant bliss;
to wash away the pain,
and draw me from the abyss.

So now I fade away; my tender flesh removed; my shattered wings released;
my inner light unsheathed …escapes.
